From the Archives, 1936: GMH opens new plant at Fisherman’s Bend

On this day in 1936 General Motors-Holden’s state-of-the-art HQ and plant at Fishermans Bend was opened by Prime Minister Joe Lyons. In 2016, eighty years later, the plant was shut signalling the end of an era.
